The University of Findlay’s Master of Science in Health Informatics Program ​prepares students to take on emerging healthcare roles and to be successful in a fast-growing field. Our program is offered in two formats, which provide our students with the flexibility to fit classes into their busy schedules. The program is offered ​100 percent online or in a hybrid format, which is a combination of both​ online and on-campus courses.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or first-professional doctorate-degree.
  • Official transcript conferring a bachelor’s degree (for master-level programs) or graduate degree (for doctoral-level programs) earned.
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale associated with a previous master’s degree. This includes classes from all institutions attended. Students who have a 2.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA may be considered for conditional admission but must attain a 3.0 cumulative GPA in the first nine credit hours of the MSHI program to be fully admitted to the program.
  • Fulfillment of prerequisite competencies with a “C” or better, demonstrated by official transcript and course syllabus (if applicable). Prerequisite courses include HEPR 220 Medical Terminology, BIOL 201 & BIOL 201L Anatomy & Physiology, and CSCI 157 Database Applications or HINF 502 Clinical Foundations for Health Informatics and/or HINF 503 Computer Foundations for Health Informatics.

Students whose native language is not English and who have not graduated from an English speaking university in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or Canada must meet the previously listed admissions conditions, plus submit an English language test score.  Students will be either directly admitted or conditionally admitted based on their English language test score.  Visit the International Admissions website for more information.
